Control the total amount of F-gas in the EU;
Prohibit the use of some F-gas;
Prevent leakage of F-gas.
aims to limit emissions of F-gas in the EU by 2030 to one-third of 2014 emissions, and to keep HFCs emissions at a very low level.
1. F-gas Quota Application
In order to better control the total amount of F-gas in the EU, the regulation proposes the concept of quotas, that is, if any enterprise wants to put F-gas in the EU market, it must first apply for quotas and obtain the corresponding quotas.
There are two types of quota applications:One is a manufacturer or importer within the European Union;
One is non-EU enterprises applying through OR.
2, F-gas tonnage application
Greenhouse fluorinated gases are subject to REACH regulation in addition to F-gas regulation. Therefore, the F-gas application tonnage cannot exceed the maximum tonnage under the corresponding REACH (pre-registration) number.
3 F-gas quota equivalent
Quotas are allocated in the form of CO2 equivalent, which is the mass of a substance multiplied by its GWP value (global warming potential). After the company submits the tonnage data of the relevant greenhouse fluorinated gases, the European Commission calculates the corresponding CO2 equivalent, and the CO2 equivalent of all the applied substances is added together to obtain the total CO2 equivalent, which is used as the pre-quota for the enterprise application.
4. F-gas Quota application time: The time to apply for the F-gas quota is once a year, and the time in 2015 is expected to be from May to July, so the enterprises that need to apply should contact the relevant agencies as soon as possible to apply.
