PAS 2060:2010 The Code of Demonstration for Carbon Neutrality was introduced in May 2010 and a new version has been released: PAS 2060: In 2014, the new version is based on the existing ISO 14000 series and PAS 2050 and other environmental standards, based on the three principles of inclusiveness, accessibility and openness, and proposes the requirements that organizations must comply with through the quantification, reduction and compensation of greenhouse gas emissions. PAS 2060 is an internationally recognized carbon neutral standard, which requires enterprises to reduce emissions on the basis of quantifying greenhouse gas emissions and achieve low-carbon production mode, which can not reduce carbon emissions. Enterprises can voluntarily adopt compensation and offset to achieve carbon neutrality. Being carbon neutral indicates that an organization is committed to reducing carbon emissions and neutralizing residual impacts by supporting environmental projects.
PAS 2060 can be applied to various types of organizations (such as business organizations, local governments, communities, academic institutions, clubs and social groups, families and individuals) and to various topics (such as events, towns or cities, buildings or products). In order to comply with the Specification, an organization or individual needs to meet all the requirements set forth.
